With the development of the society, steel reinforced concrete frame-reinforcedconcrete core tube hybrid structures are applied more and more widely. While theearthquake disaster experience of this kind of structure is less, so the damage anddestruction of the structure under the action of the earthquake is difficult to assess. Withthe incremental dynamic analysis method, the vulnerability of this kind of structureunder one-way seismic action and bi-directional seismic action are analyzed andcompared in the paper. The theory and analysis basis of the seismic performanceevaluation and vulnerability analysis of the structure under the seismic action isproposed.Based on IDA, the IDA curves with different parameters of a twenty-layerstructure under the one-way seismic action and bi-directional seismic action are drawn.Then the effectiveness of different parameters and how the vulnerability of structuresunder the one-way seismic action and bi-directional seismic action changes are studied.First of all, based on the Perform-3D finite element analysis software, the elastic-plasticanalysis model is built. And twelve seismic waves meeting the site classification areselected. Through the ground motion “amplitude modulation”, the IDA curves of thestructure under the different ground motion intensity parameters are achieved. Thenaccording to the percentile and conditions logarithmic standard deviation, how theeffectiveness of the mathematics characteristic values and parameters of the structuresunder one-way seismic action and bi-directional seismic action changes is researched.Thus the effectiveness of two parameters is detected. Finally, based on the IDA curveshow the vulnerability of structures with different parameters under the one-way seismicaction and bi-directional seismic action changes are studied. According to the comparison of the effectiveness of two parameters in the structure under the one-wayseismic action and bi-directional seismic action, the different analysis parameters underthe different ground motion have its own advantage. By the comparison between theparameters it cannot be directly said which parameter is better. From the comparisonbetween the vulnerability curves of the two parameters under the one-way seismicaction, it is known that exceeding probability values for each limit state is relativelylarger when using PGA as the vulnerability analysis parameters under the samecondition. And it is more helpful for the fortification and evaluation of the structure.From the comparison between the vulnerability curves under the one-way seismicaction and bi-directional seismic action, it is known that the exceeding probability of thebidirectional earthquake is larger than that of the one-way earthquake under the sameground motion intensity in each limit states. Therefore, the effect brought by thebidirectional earthquake on structure is needed to consider when analyzing the seismicperformance and vulnerability of this kind of structure in the future.
