| It is a critical issue to estimate the overtopping and reduce the overtopping toavoid site submerging on the design of breakwater for nuclear power station,whichshould be considered and solved in the period of plant siting. Interiorly,the study ofovertopping on the breakwater mainly depends on the model experiments. But modelexperiments are expensive, complex and time-consuming.The wave overtopping onthe breakwater is further studied from physics numerical simulation.Theory of numerical wave maker is researched. Wave overtopping of classicsectional breakwater is calculated according to the empirical formula, then simulationresult and experience formula specification are compared. This will preliminarilyprove the numerical simulation is reasonable and credible.Finite element model of breakwater of nuclear power plant is established. Waveovertopping on the maximum tidal is simulated. Overtopping under differentconfigurations is compared to provide reference for the design of breakwater.Physical model test of overtopping on breakwater nuclear power station isdeveloping after finite element simulation. For the combination of baseline waterlevel and typhoon waves, overtopping of the optimized section is measured bycomparing each scheme to provide the scientific basis for engineering design.The results can be applied to the feasibility study in the period of plant siting fornuclear power station.
