Since the first car was produced, the car have played a key role in the transportation industry, for the stability of the society and development of economy providing a solid foundation. The traditional fuel vehicles consume a lot of oil resources, nowadays shortage of oil resources is serious, exploitation of oil resources will eventually be finished in the near future; In the process of moving, the car generated a lot of harmful gases and noise, disturbing the rest of life. In order to solve those problems, new energy vehicles using motor as the system of driving, there were many advantages, new energy vehicles is the development trend of the car in the future. Regenerative braking is that have recovered energy of braking in new energy vehicles, for solving the problem of short distance per charge. In this paper using experimental and simulation approach, technology of regenerative braking is studied.In this paper, with using permanent magnet DC motor drives as electric drive vehicles and using inertia flywheel to simulate kinetic energy of the car and using super capacitor as device of energy storage, test bench of regenerative braking is set up, there is measurement and control system in this test bench. With model library of Simulink,simulation model is set up.In the trial, microcontroller collect charging current of the super capacitor, to calculate with theory of feedback, with DC/DC Converter. As a result, control strategy of constant braking have produced good effect, the result has been verified in simulation, regenerative braking is viable in new energy vehicles.
