Reinforced concrete beam bridge is one of the most widely used bridge types inhighway engineering, but also one of the bridge types that has the most prominentseismic damage in the previous devastating earthquakes, therefore, its seismic designhas been a focus problems of attention. In this paper, some of the main issues ofperformance-based seismic design of highway concrete beam bridge have beenstudied, the main work and research conclusions are as follows:1) On the basis of the relevant literature review, this paper summarizes the basicconcepts, the main research content and design methods of the performance-basedseismic design; and suggests the theoretical framework of performance-based seismicdesign of highway concrete beam bridge based on the current "Guidelines for SeismicDesign of Highway Bridges "(JTG/T B02-012008).2) Based on the previous research, this paper suggests that the destructive state ofthe pier can be used as the basis of the performance levels of bridge inperformance-based seismic design of highway concrete beam bridge, and suggests thecorresponding "Five State Criteria "; according to the "Five State Criteria" proposedby this paper, selects the displacement ductility ratio of lateral force-resistingreinforced concrete bridge piers as the definition of design parameters of theperformance levels of highway concrete beam bridge, and makes the division ofdifferent levels of structural performance through four target displacement ductilityratio.3) By the statistical analysis of the78hysteretic curve data of typical reinforcedconcrete piers test, and186hysteresis curve data of numerical model of reinforcedconcrete piers, this paper determines the distribution of target displacement ductilityratio; in the use of mathematical analysis software, this paper identifies the targetdisplacement ductility ratio with a guaranteed rate of95%reliability, therebyfinalizing the specific quantitative index of the design parameters of the performancelevels of highway concrete beam bridge.4) Based on the previous research, this paper discusses the impact on the law ofductile of main design parameters of reinforced concrete bridge piers, and suggeststhe form of a function of the maximum displacement ductility ratio; using nonlinearleast squares method, this paper makes the regression analysis for the form of function suggested by this paper using the basic parameters of the data presented in AppendixTable1~4, to get the specific functional form.5) Through the comparative analysis of the specific functional form obtained bythis paper and previous studies, it shows that the specific functional of this paper has ahigher reliability.
