With the Aggravation of the energy crisis and the enhancement of humanenvironmental protection consciousness, The natural gas industry has rapidlydevelopment in the world since the start of the century. As a kind of automotive fuel,Compressed Natural Gas is widely used and its average annual growth is about22%.Natural Gas can replace petrol as automotive fuel to improve the city air pollutionproblems efficiently, it also plays a important role in security economy andenergy-saving environmental protection. As the development of CNG vehicle necessaryinfrastructure, the rapid construction of CNG primary gas stations are flourishingthroughout the country, the proprietors’ top issue is how to achieve the economic andscientific goal in the construction of CNG primary gas stations.This paper introduces the domestic and foreign achievement and existing problemsin the construction of CNG gas stations, and focuses on the selection of CNGcompressor equipment. It also gives the conclusion that CNG compressor is the coreequipment in CNG primary filling station. On the basis of the guiding ideology aboveand the rich data from feasibility study to operation provided by Ping Fang CNGprimary filling station, the researchers do research in three aspects of equipmentselection、 cost-effectiveness analysis and operational maintenance. The rationalselection of CNG compressor is important to the improvement of economy andreliability of the entire station. Firstly the paper concludes the principles for theselection of CNG compressor, according to More than20years of Operating Experiencein China and the accumulation of experience of the Harbin Ping Fang station. Secondly,the paper establishes investment estimation of three schemes of CNG compressor, andmakes the economic and technical comparison. Lastly, the paper analyses all kinds ofenergy consumption in the station, then gives the conclusion that the good maintenancecan improve the economic benefit of the station.The paper proposes the complete design research methodology of GNG primaryfilling station with a core of compressor, and it provides the majority of designers andowners a new way of thinking in design, construction, operation and maintenance.According to the case of Harbin Ping Fang station, the selection of CNG compressors is not only based on gas supply scale, entering pressure or other technological parameters,but also considered with the necessary technical requirements of the local actualsituation, the comprehensive and accurate evaluation to the investment is needed, too.After The analysis of the station operation, the paper finds that import compressors’technical performance are not absolutely reliable, a good job of operating maintenancecan help improve the economic benefit of the station.
