The grid-related protection of generator includes over-excitation protection, low-voltageprotection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, abnormal frequency protection,out-of-step protection, loss-of-excitation protection, and so on. This article selects theexcitation-loss protection, out of step protection of Shajiao A power plant as the researchobject, with comparison to other simulation tools, chose power system simulation softwarePSCAD as the simulation platform. set up loss-of-excitation-fault and protection simulationmodel and out-of-step fault and the protection of power system. on the basis ofloss-of-excitation and out-of-step faults simulation model, combined with the simulationwaveforms, then analyzed the mechanism of and loss of excitation. Based on theloss-of-excitation and out-of-step protection simulation model of Shajiao A power plant, theaction performance was analyzed, and the appropriate project proposals were given. The mainresearch content is as follows:Based on A systematic analysis on Shajiao A power plant, the appropriate models wereselected, and the parameters were correctly set, Shajiao A power system simulation modelwas built using PSCAD structures in.Compare loss-of-excitation and out-of-step fault theory and PSCAD simulation results.Using PSCAD simulated loss-of-excitation and out-of-step faults: combined withexcitation-loss fault mechanism, analyzed the voltage of the generator, rotor angle, angularvelocity, current waveform, the output active power, reactive power, machine measurementimpedance diagram. The fault simulation results validated step excitation-loss fault and faulttheories.Established protection models of loss-of-excitation and out-of-step of Shajiao A powerplant, with the simulation results, improved the protection configuration, or changed thesetting value. Based on this, loss-of-excitation and out-of-step protection action performancewere analyzed, and put forward constructive improvements: for the protection of theloss-of-excitation protection in Shajiao, join inverse reactive criterion each segment ofthree-stage protection or increased the impedance circle radius, for the protection of theout-of-step protection in Shajiao, in order to improve the protection security; chose to retainthe original protection configuration.
