Spiral Bevel Gears, which with advantages of high transmission efficiency, strongbearing capacity, compact structure, stable transmission, low noise, etc. are highlyrecommended for use in cars. The quality of these gears will affect the transmission comfort,noise and service life of the vehicle, even affect the cars’ normal operation, and relative tohumans’safety. Therefore, Research on Gear fault test is quite important.At present, the spiral bevel gear’s design is dominated by foreign enterprises, theseenterprises will keep the key information of the gears secret, and it is difficult to carry outgear inspection at home. So after learn all kinds of gear detecting technology currently,including the principle and application of the geometry error measurement, the transmissionerror measurement and the overall error measurement, this paper try to build up a set ofsimple, accurate and cost-effective gear defect test system in accordance to single flankmeshing measurementFirstly, study the system dynamics model of spiral bevel gear meshing transmission, andvarious kinds of incentive factor, including external incentive factor, stiffness incentive factor,deviation incentive factor, as well as meshing impact, then list the dynamics formula toanalyze the dynamic transfer characteristics of the spiral bevel gear meshing. Secondly, takeuse of Simulink to simulate the dynamic model, further inspect the response of the system.Finally, Build up the detection system consists of mechanical bevel gear inspection machines,rotary encoder, data acquisition card and xPC Target system. And perform the Gear detectionexperiment. The experimental results show that, using of xPC Target system together withrotary encoder can effectively get the gear’s running information, and enabling real-timeobservation. The deficient gear can be detected according to the speed and angle measured.The experimental data and the simulation results are probably consistent, verify that thedetection scheme is feasible, and provided effective solution to customers.
