Scenario simulation on dike breaching flood of high embankment channel couldplay a vital role in dike breach flood risk management. The scholars focused onsimulating the whole process of flood evolution with numerical simulation, virtualreality and computer technology. Representing such complex submerged areas simplybut realistically in detailed simulation models could be cumbersome and often limittheir utility. In view of the above situation, the scenario simulation system of flood ofdike breach in high embankment channel was developed, and dynamic visualizationof flood evolution was realized. The results of this paper are as follows.(1) The2D and3D numerical calculation models of dike breach flood in highembankment were proposed. The finite difference method and finite volume methodwere used to discretize the control equations respectively. The results of floodnumerical simulation were well agreement with the published experimental results.(2) Scenario simulation system of flood of dike breach in high embankmentchannel was developed, and the general framework of the system was designed. Therelated systematic function modules were exploited based on C#language. Themutual determination of dike burst and realization of numerical calculation programwere solved and dynamic visualization of dike breach flood evolution process andinteractive inquiry of submerged area and water speed was realized.(3) Delaunay triangle network generating algorithm based on growing methodwas applied to establish3D scene of high embankment channel project as well asentity modeling method, texture mapping technology. The environment of the scenewas simulated with sky box technology to increase interactivity and immersion.Interaction between users and virtual scenes was achieved, which provided intuitivemanage analyzing platform for project managers.(4) A certain high embankment channel in long distance water diversion projectwas used as a case. The realization goal and function were proposed based on theanalysis of forecast flood evolution demand. The general framework, developmentprinciple, runtime environment and work architectural pattern were designed, whichprovided effectively and intuitive analysis means and decrease the risk caused byflood enormously and contains high application value.
