| In the Bohai Sea Area, the sea ice appears almost every winter, which hasbecome a major threat to the production of the offshore structures. The transportationof personnel and supplies for offshore platforms in ice can only be achieved byIcebreakers. With the flourish booming explosion of offshore engineering, the modernicebreakers have played a more and more important role in the business. The researchon mechanics of ice-ship interaction, the calculation of ice load during the interactionand the moving responses induced by ice load is of great significance.This paperdevelops the following works:(1)Using the MOSES software and building a multi-purpose icebreaker.(2)Analyzing the mechanics of ice-ship interaction, contriving a composite icecrushing mode where the icebreaker will act with ice in face, the radial cracks areindicated to be an emphasis. Considering the similarity between the ice failure modein front of the icebreaker bow and the mode before the downward bending cone, adeterministic ice force function is proposed based on the model-scale tests.(3)Simulating the process of icebreaker sailing and mooring, the results indicatethat the moving responses are different in heading current or adverse current with theincreasing of ice drift speeds. Then the magnitude values of the moored force arecalculated and the force amplification coefficient is analyzed. |
