As large systems are becoming more and more complex, integrated andintelligent, PHM is produced and playing a more and more important role in makingsystems reliable, safe and reducing systems‘maintenance and security costs. PHMmeans using advanced sensors to collect systems‘status information and usingadvanced algorithms and intelligent models to diagnose, predict and manage systems‘health.Plane‘s structure health monitoring system is a specific application of PHM. Itrealizes a plane‘s health diagnosis, prediction and management by using distributedsensors to collect information, processing it preliminary based on its characteristic andtransferring useful result to the high speed processing system to do further analysis.A plane‘s structure health monitoring system is usually consist of interface andcommunication system, signal acquisition and processing system and high speedprocessing system, and the high speed processing system is the heart of it. The highspeed processing system needs not only to control and manage the whole system, butalso to do signal processing and transmission of a large number of data. So, it needs tohave high speed signal processing and transmission ability, and also strong controlability.This paper proposes a high speed processing system‘s design scheme which usesFreescale‘s PowerPC processor P1010as the system core, combining with DDR3torealize high speed data processing, uses Altera‘s MAX II serials CPLD EPM570asthe auxiliary control element to realize logic control of the system, uses CPCI as themain data transmission way to realize high speed data transmission, runs Linuxoperating system to realize resource management and benefit to software development.The design and implementation of the high speed processing system is realized in thispaper and Linux operation system is ported on it successfully.This paper introduces the whole design of the plane‘s structure health monitoringsystem at first, including the interface and communication system, the signalacquisition and processing system and the high speed processing system, and thenintroduces the hardware design and realization of the high speed processing system indetail, at last, introduces the embedded Linux system and how to port it on the high speed processing system. Experiments show that, the system can work well, can meetthe requirements of a plane‘s structure health monitoring system to high speedprocessing system.
