With the rapid development of the high-tech products, the development of the publicfacilities also combined with more advanced technology. In recent years, due to the street lampmonitoring system is closely connected with people’s life; the development of the system gets theattention by the society. In the past, the development of the street lamp monitoring system existssome problems, the traditional system is equiped with complex wiring, faults mainly found bymaintenance personnel regularly inspecting it or the passers-by finding it and reporting, thesystem control mode is simple and not flexible, the traditional system do not have the function ofremote monitoring. So in today’s society, traditional system can not satisfy the needs of people.According to the problems of the traditional street lamp monitoring, the article is in order torealize the remote monitoring of the campus street lamp control system. The system is combinedwith a variety of technologies, mainly contains ZigBee, GPRS, single-chip microcomputer, ARM,etc., all these technologies form a lamp control system, which has lamp terminal, monitoringterminal and monitor center. The wireless communication technology used in the system solvesthe problem of wiring required in the traditional street lamp control system; also it establishes aremote monitoring network and solves the problem that traditional street lamp control system islimited by region.The street lamp remote monitoring function means that the sensors on the lamp terminal areresponsible for collecting the state of the lamp, then the ZigBee module on the lamp terminaltransmits the data to the ZigBee module on the monitoring terminal, and then the monitoringterminal integrates the data and sends it to the monitoring center by the GPRS module onterminal through the GPRS network, the data can be shown on the VB interface or be sent to themobile phone, it realizes the remote monitoring of the street lamp.The street lamp remote controlling function means that the monitoring center or the mobilephone sends command, the GPRS module on the monitoring terminal gets it and the terminaldeals with it, then send the data to the lamp terminal through the ZigBee module. It realizes theremote control of the street lamp.The job contains designing and building the hardware, writing the software, and debuggingthe system over and over again. In the end, all the parts can work well, the communicationbetween the lamp terminal and monitoring terminal is normal, the GPRS module can send data tothe monitoring center, and the mobile phone can send commands to turn the street lamp on or off,the system basically reaches the expected purpose.
