Solar energy,as a kind of renewable clean energy, rich, and can be used for free, isgradually becoming international research hotspot in recent years. The solar cells, a kind ofdevice which can convert solar energy into electric energy, are currently being widelystudied.Polymer solar cells, as a new kind of solar cells have such advantages: widely available, simple processes, cheap, and can be prepared in large areas. If we can achieve furtherbreakthrough in performance, the energy conversion efficiency approaching commercializationlevel of inorganic solar cells, they will be widely used, and its market prospects will bevastitude. However, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of polymer photovoltaic cells isstill relatively low, and the performance is not stable enough. The study found thatphotoelectric conversion efficiency of polymer solar cells is directly related to themorphology of the active layer. At present, the commonly used method of improvingmorphology is thermal annealing. This article aims to explore the mechanism of photoelectric conversion through makingdevices under the condition of the external field, including generation, transmission, andcollection of the charge. By applying a high electric field induced to the preparation ofpolymer solar cell, the polymer will be polarized. Then we can measure charge carriermobility, and the current-voltage curve. Then I found that the absorption spectrumimproved, the short-circuit current increased and the efficiency increased with the externalelectric field. The results tell that the external electric field polarizes the polymer film andlead to an orientation of polymer chain. The orientation of polymer chain facilitates theintra-chain charge transport along the backbone, so that the short circuit current increases.
