In recent years, the number of cars increases year by year, the exhaust heat notonly causes environmental pollution and waste energy, environmental protection andenergy conservation are two major problems currently in the automotive industry.Thermoelectric conversion technology will convert exhaust heat into electricity,protect environment, improve fuel efficiency, achieve energy conservation andreduces emissions.The output of the thermoelectric conversion system is not stable,affected by the external environment. Energy regulator adjust the output of thesystem to ensure maximum power output of system. The research is as follows:Firstly, thermoelectric conversion process is introduced, according to theprinciples of heat transfer theory, model of thermoelectric conversion system areanalyzed, and the experiment theoretical basis are provided. Then, on the basis ofoptimizing the thermoelectric module, analyzes its general structure, and set up theautomobile exhaust thermoelectric conversion system test bench.Based on theexperimental bench, the electricity of the thermoelectric conversion system and theoutput characteristic are studied and analyzed.Due to the thermoelectric conversion system output voltage is not stable, andneed energy regulator to adjust. Based on the output characteristics of thethermoelectric conversion system,the topological structure of power regulator aredetermined, its working principle are analyzed,the main circuit parameters arecalculated, including high frequency transformer, filter circuit and powerdevices.The thesis use the PSpice software to carry on the simulation analysis to themain circuit.The control circuit is designed on the basis of the main topology.In certain external environment, the thermoelectric conversion system has onlymaximum output power points, which needs to adjust the working point to guaranteesystem in the most high power output.Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) aresimulated by Matlab/Simulink.Maximum power point tracking algorithm are putforward, and are programming on the controller. The energy regulator adjust thesystem to achieve maximum power point tracking of thermoelectric conversion system.The experimental results show that the design of the energy regulator canrealize the thermoelectric conversion system with maximum power point tracking.
