Four-link portal crane is widely used in port handling, manufacturing plants andother occasions that need for handling large-scale machinery. Luffing mechanism isone of the most important part of portal crane, by luffing mechanism can change thehorizontal displacement of goods, increasing the operating range of the crane. Thereare many kinds of luffing types of crane, rack and pinion Change is the mostcommonly used, because the amplitude process, subject to the size and direction ofthe rack and pinion force is constantly changing, causing bad rack and pinionmeshing, has a significant impact on its installation error meshing. In this paper, install the rack and pinion center distance error is variable to research the dynamiccharacteristics of luffing mechanism gear rack. The main contents include:(1)Analyzing how the crane luffing mechanism work, establish luffing gear, rack meshing force dynamics model.(2)Using the SOLIDWORKS and ADAMS to analysis luffing system of rigidbody, and get dynamic contact force curve.(3)Establish a luffing jib flexible body models in ADAMS to analysis luffingsystem of rigid body and flexible body, get luffing gear, rack meshing dynamic forcecurve and flexible body stress contours.(4)In the ANSYS/LS-DYNA environment, gear-rack loaded with a finiteelement model to solve, get with the rack gear changes with time and stress cloudgears, rack contact force curve. In this paper, making gear backlash, starting and braking driver functions as avariable, research gear-rack dynamic force. Provide a way for choosing suitablegear backlash and driver functions. Improve luffing gear-rack life, have practicalsignificance.
