Abstract/Summary:
Polymer melt gear pump is a kind of approximate positive-displacement device. Because of its high performance of pressure increasing and stabilizing, now the pump has been widely used in the production lines of films, profiles, cables, sheets, co-extrusion and large scale extrusion palletizing. The materials include PE, PC, PP, PVC, PET, polyester, thermoplastic materials and rubber. That’s behind the new interest.The rubber melt gear pump is mainly used in rubber product extrusion and moulding. It can provide high extrusion pressure and precision. Rolling bearings are generally used in the rubber gear pumps. So as to prevent the melt resin to invade the rolling bearings, some measures should be taken such as put the septum on the gear side and the screw on the gear shaft, a little melt resin may leak out of the gear pump from the leaking passage. Based on the performance characteristics of gear pump, two types of rubber melt gear pump have been designed, and one of them has been manufactured. The integrated gear pump extruder machine contains the gear pump and the extruder as an integer. The gear pump without its own motor, is driven by the extruder’s motor. Extruder-gear pump combinations offer many process benefits for the processing of rubber. The most important are lower stock temperatures at high extrusion pressure and reduced pulsation with very constant profile dimensions. The new development of an integrated gear pump offers a significant reduction in capital coat while maintaining these benefits, alongside the further benefits of simple handling, excellent self-cleaning and improvement in extruded compound homogeneity. The integrated gear pump extruder machine has been designed in this subject. Using melt gear pump in large extrusion palletizing system can improved the system performance and the product efficiency, and can adapt to more kinds of resin, lower the energy consumption and extrusion temperature, and makes the production more stable. A precise temperature control is needed on the bearing. So some particular method should be taken such as make in cooling passage inside the bearing and so on. The gear pump which output is200,000ton per year has been designed as a blue print.In the present article, a Buss kneader equipped with a melt gear pump was used to research the dimension stability of extrudate. According to the experimental results, the method to achieve steadily extrusion using melt gear pump was put forward, and some points about the design of melt gear pump were given.
