Insulator,in modern power system operation, is very common electricalequipment.Composite insulators its long-running online work environment is morecomplex, affected by natural conditions and operating environment, resulting in anumbrella group of insulator surface conditions change, the insulation performance.Through the six new composite insulators immersed in a solution of different pH values,to simulate long-term wet rain environmental insulator environment, the use of infraredspectroscopy and leakage current method to study through the surface properties afterimmersion parachute group changes. Case study of the contamination and leakagecurrent characteristics of the composite insulator surface, what’s more,the dielectric lossδgent is introduced to the acquisition amount in this peper.This article has been started in accordance with the subject content and theexperimental hardware and software,specify the details of soaking and measurementprotocol, familiar patterns of infrared spectrometer collected works, the formation ofleakage current experimental platform, written in leakage current data acquisitionsoftware. According to FTIR experiments on H2SO4solution and the NaOH solution andthe alkaline and neutral NaCl solution in deionized water at different pH values of acomposite silicone rubber material immersion Si-O-Si in the main chain, Si-CH3sidechain,-OH change, in order to study changes in the hydrophobic insulator; artificialclimate chamber, the leakage current law, to obtain the amount of leakage currentcharacteristics to study the effect of different pH values and humidity on the amount ofleakage current characteristics; soaking after the experiment is done, the soakedcomposite insulators placed in a clean dry environment for natural recovery, in order tostudy the characteristics of composite insulators recovery after the loss of hydrophobic;insulator leakage current characteristics by measuring the amount of contamination to thestudy of complex hydrophobic insulator surface effects.The results showed that with the increase of immersion time insulator, siliconrubber backbone and side-chain methyl absorption are gradually decreased; soaking atthe same time, a neutral solution of the silicone rubber the main chain and the side chainA Effect of the difference is small group; soaking liquor ratio and neutral, acidicsolution will accelerate destruction of the silicone rubber the main chain and a side chainmethyl group, the smaller the surface of the insulator and the soaking solution pH, thefaster the loss of hydrophobicity; alkaline solution of silicon rubber backbone andside-chain methyl impact is most severe, and with increasing pH the greater destructive.Leakage current experiments, the neutral solution insulators, they are very small differences in the amount of leakage current characteristics, and acidic and alkalinesolution soak hydrophobic insulator loss faster, resulting in leakage current and dielectricloss tangent root-mean-square value increases large, NaOH solution is destructivestronger than the H2SO4; leakage current density of eigenvalues with salt, ash densityand humidity around the laboratory test are positively correlated, with their increases.Composite insulators due to loss of water repellency after a long soak, place over aperiod of time, so that the leakage current characteristic values decline, infraredspectrometer measured silicone rubber backbone Si-O-Si and Si-CH3peak absorbanceand the area has increased its hydrophobicity is somewhat restored.BP neural network to establish a composite insulator surface state assessmentevaluation method based on the use of infrared spectroscopy and leakage current testsample data to validate the evaluation model. The results show that BP neural networkmodel is used to assess the state of the insulator surface is feasible.
