With the rapid development of social economy, the needs of electric power industryin our country increase constantly. Taking low-power, high efficiency road is the call ofthe national energy conservation and emission reduction to solve the energy shortages.Using air-cooled units is an efficient way to promote the energy industry to save water.Therefore, the study of air-cooling system technology has the important practicalsignificance.WuAn power generation company intends to built2×300MW air cooling units, andit is the research object of the paper. According to different classification of air coolingunits, taking the moist-chilling units as reference, we analyzes and compares the differentforms of features of air cooling units.According to WuAn power generation companyenvironment, we analysis the project site, local meteorological conditions, addressconditions and transportation conditions on the impact of the air cooling units and verifythe feasibility of the units investment. Combined with the actual situation of WuAnindirect cooling system, the heat consumption level, water consumption level and waterresources were studied. We design simple back-pressure cooling tower, and analyse therelationship between the changes of back pressure and the units heat consumption. Theemphasis on the form of cooling tower is analysed and studied.This paper proposed two cooling tower layout programs, that is, a machine with onetower and two machines with one tower. Design parameter of cooling towers are givenunder different layouts, and the corresponding cooling system, floor space, investmentcosts were analyzed and compared. The results showed that, both in terms of economy orsafety, two machines with one tower has significant advantages. Therefore, the projectintends to adopt two machines with one tower, and conducted the study on relatedequipment selection and layout.Studying the performance test of air cooling tower and analyzing its data, got the uni-t heat transfer characteristics of air cooling system, achieved expected design and propos-ed the corresponding winter antifreeze measures. To solve the problem of units with highback pressure in summer, The paper designed a set of water spray device.Experiment pr-oved that the system had an significant effect to reduce the back pressure.A tower with two machines is first air cooling units in our country, there is no experience of design, installation and operation. So the content of this research providesthe corresponding reference for construction of the same type of units.
