In this paper, the problem about the distribution network automationreformation program of BoHai New Area Power Supply Company is researched.Firstly, by combining the trends in distribution automation system at home andabroad,closely related with actual distribution network of BoHai New AreaPower Supply Company, the concrete research work and purpose is specificlyproposed. In close connection with the distribution network equipments, thecontroller integrated with the existing equipments is designed, which not onlyachieves the automation reformation, but also minimizes the engineering andcost, meanwhile, the value is maximized. Secondly,analysis of the actualsituation in the Bohai New Area grid to determine the scope of the reformprogram, to study the characteristics of distribution automation communicationsystem, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of a variety ofcommunication methods, proposed the3G technology.Based on detailed studyabout the capability,trend and feature of3G technology, focusing on comparingthe advantages between3G communication technology and other traditionalmeans of communication, the communication plan based on TD-CDMAtechnology is proposed.This article focuses on the in-depth research of hardwareand software of the controller. The hardware use the dual CPU:"DSP+MCU"processing structure, using industrial-grade TD-SCDMA terminal as acommunication unit. The software part describes the preparation of the userprogram. The A/D reverse section、 human/machine interface tasks、3Gcommunication program design、 current protection program areemphasized.Finally, with specific network transformation program of the BohaiNew Area, analysis and description are made with concrete example of the faultzone detection from theory to algorithm.
