Distributed coordinated automatic voltage control is known as AVC. In a processof AVC, the system needs to centralized monitor the reactive power and voltagestatus, also carry on the analysis and calculation. In the process of optimization ofreactive power compensation equipment and the voltage, it needs to start from thearea power grid point of view. This method not only can make the voltage stabilitybut also improve the quality. In addition, it can also make the voltage and reactivepower management level greatly improved. So that the whole power system can keeprunning on an economical level.The premise of automatic voltage control system in Xingtai power grid is tomake the whole area of the grid to maintain stable and safe operation state. On thebase of this premise, the automatic voltage control system can make the voltage andthe power factor meet the requirements and it can also make the reactive power onelectrical wire reduce to the greatest degree. At the same time, it makes the activepower loss reduce to the lowest level. In the design of Xingtai power grid AVCsystem, the main consideration is the security of power grid and convenience of themaintenance. So it is better to make the AVC system and the EMS platform toachieve integration. In order to obtain the corresponding control model, the PASnetwork is used in the model. And in order to get real-time data, the SCADA systemis used. In the process, it also needs lots of online analysis, processing andcalculation. As for the area substation, the AVC’s main work is to centralizedmonitor, control and manage the reactive power compensation and load voltageregulating device. And then the voltage and reactive power of the regional power gridis optimized, Finally it can realize the closed loop operation.During the AVC construction and operation, Xingtai electric power controlcenter have found, summarized all kinds of problems appeared in the operation of thesystem. So optimized system strategy is proposed to solve these problems. Thus itcan ensure the safe and reliable operation. In the premise to ensure the voltage quality,the work intensity of the monitoring staff on duty is greatly reduced. So the Xingtaipower grid is operated in an economical, reliable and high quality way.
