The concept of "low carbon economy" has been constantly raised as a seriousdeterioration in the excessive consumption of energy resources and the ecologicalenvironment, it became a response to global warming and the core of the strategy toachieve the sustainable development of the whole society. As an important contributorto the pollution of gas emissions, the electric power industry has great potential in the"energy conservation", the optimization of grid construction planning is an effectiveway to develop a low-carbon economy.As an important part of network planning, preferred substation sites plays acrucial role in the economy and efficiency of power grid construction and the stability,security of the entire grid operation.If the process of substation sites can be preferredfrom the perspective of low-carbon, it will run the development of low-carbon powergrid construction and improve the sustainability of the power grid construction basedon the stability of the construction and operation of power grid.Based on the existing substation site selection and planning studies, consideringthe impact of low-carbon background to the grid construction and carry out thestudies of substation site optimization, construct the substation sitting evaluationsystem from five aspects, which includes infrastructure, natural environment, gridstructure, economic efficiency and effectiveness of low-carbon; Use AHP and entropyweight method to determine the index weight combinations, considering the actualneeds of the substation sitting, select the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method forHC110kV substation station site to choose a best substation station site between twoselected substation stations. The empirical results of the preferred HC110kVsubstation sites shows the reasonable of the evaluation index system, it can not onlyensure the power quality, security of supply and cost-effective of power gridconstruction, but also reduce the energy consumption and achieve sustainabledevelopment of environment and power grid.
