It is of great significance to research the influence of rainfall infiltration on slopestability, Geotechnical community to explore the mechanism of rainfall-inducedlandslides gradually increased. However, rainfall intensity, rainfall duration andgeological status etc. have been considered much more, and the effect of slopestability by rainfall patterns always been ignored. Therefore, the Slope/w and Seep/wmodules in the Geo-Studio heve been used to simulate rainfall infiltration and slopestability, and analysis of different rainfall conditions, slope safety factor relationshipschange over time have been done, The results show that:High, medium and low permeability coefficient has been set, and the influence ofeach rainfall intensity on slope stability has been explored, The results indicate thatrainfall intensity could affect the stability of the slope, while there exists an extremeeffect of rainfall intensity on slope stability and this limit is determined by thesaturated permeability. When we strike the critical slope instability leading to rainfallintensity can be estimated by the permeability of the soil as a condition. On the basis of the older studies,It can classified as seven rainfall patternsaccording to the rainfall intensity peaks in the order of appearance, which the totalrainfall in a certain value during rainfall, explored the slope stability by usingnumerical simulation, under the different rainfall patterns,The results show that thesafety factor of the slope varies with the rainfall pattern, the slope stability is relatedto the peak of rainfall intensity when to appear. In the process of rainfall, Rainfallintensity peak appear earlier, the sooner to reduce the safety factor, and Rainfallintensity peak appear later, the later to reduce the safety factor, But the impact of thelater rainfall intensity peak has more intense in safety factor, that is to say, the rainfallintensity peak which appears later will make failure of slope possible easier.Under the uniform rainfall pattern, investigate the effect of earlier rainfallintensity on slope stability of two permeability coefficient including k=0.001cm/s andk=0.1cm/s, the two kinds of permeability coefficient make slope instability in theearly rainfall which reached233mm and120mm respectively. The results show that:Antecedent rainfall intensity could lead to earlier appeared on the brink of the slopedestruction, and the following heavy rainfall wil make failure of slope. Under the uniform rainfall pattern, discuss the influence factors about soil slope, such as slope material, slope rate, slope height, the groundwater table deep thoughthree cases, and vary one of the influence factors to get how them affect the slopestability in each rainfall intensity. Make sure the degree of influence of differentnature and type slope’s factors, Results indicated that the slope becomes more dangerwhen the slope rate and slope height grow, safety factors determined by the slopegeotechnical material parameters before rain. After the rainfall occurs, the materialsaturated hydraulic conductivity, rainfall intensity both are important factors in slopestability, the greater rainfall intensity, the faster decline in safety factor, and theinfiltration coefficient of the material determines the impact of the rainfall on slopestability. It has less influence than the rainfall intensity on slope stability when wechange the depth of groundwater table depth.
