Polymer solar cells has more advantages than inorganic solar cells with the low prices of raw materials, simple production technology, coating, printing and large areas preparation.poly [2-methoxy-5(2’-ethylhexyl)-1,4-phenylethynyl](MEH-PPV) is a soluble PPV derivatives which widely studied and used, It’s has good solubility and be highly concerned in polymer electroluminescence and photovoltaic cells. This paper study and explore the synthesis line of MEH-PPV. We use removing hydrogen halide line and use ultrasound method to successfully synthesize a soluble polymer of the MEH-PPV And the line start from p-phenol as a synthesis of raw materials. The paper discusses to every step of reaction conditions.In order to achieve better cell efficiency, the paper do a series of modified and the mechanism of MEH-PPV applied to the polymer solar cell materials.Chapter Ⅲ use spin coating to form MEH-PPV polymer films and study on the affecting conditions and use the AFM (atomic force microscope) to observation of the morphology of polymer films.During the process of solar cells, the polymer film surface topography and thickness decide the Contact characteristics between the polymer layer of polymer and metal electrode layer. Such characteristics make obvious impact on cell characteristics.Chapter Ⅳ studies on the oxidation doping of MEH-PPV. Use different ways to dope iodine. We discuss the mechanism of iodine doping and conductivity of film, spectral response of different concentrations of iodine doping, and the impact of iodine from the doping.Chapter Ⅴ studies on the chain orientation of the electric polarization of MEH-PPV. Applied different electric field, the polymer can direction of polarization and we used AFM atomic force microscope observation the morphology of film.Chapter Ⅵ study on optical effects of the MEH-PPV film doping with C60.And research on the affection on film surface topography with doping different concentration of C60.
