As a sustainable, clean and efficiency energy power generation technology, solarphotovoltaic has been widely used in recent years. The installed capacity ofphotovoltaic system increases with years, which leads to ratio rising in energy powergeneration. Countries all over the world begin to focus their eyes to solar photovoltaic,and make long-term planning for solar photovoltaic technique development andapplications, due to energy crisis and environmental protection. Solar photovoltaicthus becomes an important research subject.Photovoltaic technology is developing rapidly in China. It is most widely used toprovide the basic residents’ electricity in the west. The areas without electricity due togeographic location, however, have sufficient sunshine, where the photovoltaictechnology can play an important role.Starting with the principles of photovoltaic, as well as considering the practicalapplication of photovoltaic technology, we proposed two solutions, namely householdpower system and stand alone power station, to power supply for residents in areaswithout electricity. Based on analysis and field trips of the project in three counties(Jiuzhi, Dari and Banma in Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, QinghaiProvince), the scale of photovoltaic was designed, and the equipment type wasselected.This paper deals with the optimization about the sitting of control rooms forphotovoltaic system. A penalty function method is used to transfers constrainedcondition into unconstrained condition of the theoretical model. The basic particleswarm optimization algorithm, which is improved by the design of inertial weight, isutilized to get the optimal solution. The optimization is achieved by Matlab software.
