Ground source heat pump technology has attracted more and more attention for itsenergy conservation and economic advantages, when energy shortage and environmentalpollution become great difficulties in China. Hebei Province is one of the earliest areaswhere ground sourceheat pump technology is researched and applied. The climate andhydrogeological condition in Hebei Province are suitable for the development of groundsource heat pump. Moreover, the government has taken relevant supporting policies. Inrecent years, it has a rapid development in Hebei Province, and typical demonstrationprojects have been built in some regions.In this paper, the current development of underground pipe ground source heatpump technology at home and abroad is analyzed, as well as the vigorous promotion inHebei Province. There are a lot of problems in the application process of Ground sourceheat pump technology. Although the theoretics on ground heat source heat pumptechnology are mature, little economic analysis have been studied in practical application.Take multi-factor into consideration, such as architectural properties, geologicalconditions, energy prices, policy guidance, the economy of the systems is differient indifferent regions. As a result, the developers and owners sometimes look on and keepcautious for ground source heat pump technology. This is the biggest obstacle to promotepipe ground source heat pump technology in application.Therefore, five ground source heat pump system project cases in the central andsouthern of Hebei Province are selected in this paper. They have different geologicalstructure. The energy conservation of systems and the theories and methods of economicanalysis are introduced. After analyzing the economy composing of each case, such asthe initial investment, annual operating costs, the guide lines of energy conservation andeconomic analysis in Ground source heat pump system, Air-source heat pump system andtraditional central air conditioning are calculated. Performance coefficient is one of theguide lines of energy conservation. The guide lines of economic analysis includedynamic and static investment payback period, dynamic costs annually, etc.. It comes aconclusion that Ground source heat pumps are more energy efficient and economical thanthe other two forms of air conditioning systems. Meanwhile, the total pollutant emissions and total cost savings are calculated in the operation life of Ground sourceheat pumpsystem, and the comparions to the other two forms of air conditioning systems are made,too.The main contents are summarized. The conclusion for energy conservation in casesand economic analysis calculation are introduced. Otherwise, the inadequacies in thispaper and potential research interests are described. To some extent, this paper canpromote the development of geothermal ground heat pump technology in Hebei Provinceand provide a economic reference for the actual project.
