Since the reform of the housing system in1980, China’s real estate industry has gradually developed. After the reform, housing exhibits characteristics of goods. In the past few decades, China’s real estate industry has experienced changing from obtaining lands at relatively cheap prices to operating oriented to the real purchasing power and the needs of consumer, which also highlights out its characteristic of the product. Standardized development model can improve development speed and rapid turnover rate, lower development costs and expenses, doubling the investment rate of return; it also can be able to achieve rapid growth in the size and quality of construction, helping to foster and enhance the corporate brand. In view of this, the implementation of standardized product development to become the real estate enterprises’consensus and common strategic initiatives, and standardization of residential products have emerged.In this study, questionnaire and SD method, a landscape evaluation method, were used as the main means of research. From the consumer perspective, understand the consumers’ideal residential landscape environment characteristics and their perception of landscape environment of current residential products on the market; compared the evaluation results by SD method with the conclusions from questionnaires and summarized successful experiences and failures of the typical case, then worked out effective landscape design methods for standardized residential products. This research shows that only the transformation of the current residential landscape design products work procedures and models and strengthen the professional landscape designer conservation related fields can enhance the landscape and environmental quality of residential products fundamentally; view of landscape designers and non-professional consumers about landscape are very different; designers should pay attention on these differences and respect consumers’demand and preferences; consumer value called for " simple ideas " which means using ordinary materials to do creative space design with wisdom. All designers should do self-reflection.
