The self-anchored suspension bridges have the advantage of beautiful appearance, good adaptability of the geological conditions etc, so it is the favour of the bridge builders. Based on self-anchored suspension bridge of Mudanjiang bridge, this paper analyses the mechanical behavior of concrete self-anchored suspension bridge.Firstly, this paper introduces the three basic calculation theory:elasticity theory of suspension bridges, deflection theory, the finite displacement theory. And we introduces the nonlinear factors,for example the structural weight of large displacement, cable and the cable’s initial internal force, concrete shrinkage and creep of concrete, to the stress of the anchor suspension bridge performance impact. Secondly, this paper introduces three kinds of calculation methods of the initial equilibrium state of self-anchored suspension bridge: suspension catenary method, parabola method and line method. Based on line method, we used MIDAS/Civil finite element software to establish the finite element model of the bridge. And based on the goal of reasonable design state, we analyze the rationality of its bridge balance. Thirdly, through analyzing the influence line of self-anchored suspension bridges, we determine the load test research, and carried on the real bridge load test. The experimental results show that the stiffening beam has good stiffness, strength and crack resistance, the main tower has good stiffness, derrick meet the design requirements, the whole bridge structure under static load has good mechanical properties. Fourthly, through the calculation of finite element model, we analyze the internal force and displacement of stiffening girder, cable rope, boom and main tower under dead load, live load, temperature load, wind load and other loads separately or under the combined action. Finally we analyze the bridge dynamic characteristics by the finite element, and we test dynamic characteristics and vibration response of the bridge. Through analyzing the test results and theoretical calculation, we study the vibration characteristics of the bridge, including the bridge vibration mode, damping ration and the frequency of vibration mode, and we find the vibration characteristics of test accord with the vibration characteristics of the calculation of finite element mode. And we also study the wind resistance of the bridge.
