Conventional compaction examination uses random sampling detection methods. But these methods can lead to missed detection as well as damage roadbed structure. For the disadvantage of the conventional examination methods, many countries came up with the idea of continual compaction detection and put it into use.Three embankment test section in Shanghai-Kunming passager dedicated line were chosen to conduct the continuous compaction and make conventional detection. CMV was chosen as the continuous indicator while Evd was the conventional one. By performing the correlation fitting between CMV andd, the target value of CMV was confirmed. With the target value, studies on the probability distribution models of CMV and elimination of the outliers were made. New indicators to evaluate the compaction quality were also proposed later. Analysis was also made to examine their rationality. The results show that there is a good relevance between the two indicators and the most appropriate probability distribution for most samples of CMV is normal distribution. It’ll be more obvious after the outliers were eliminated. By making a comparison between the new indicators of compaction quality and the current ones, it concludes that the new ones can reflect the compaction quality more accurately. Finally, by analyzing the data, a rational range of new indicators was made and it will provide a new reference for compaction detection.
