As the artery of power grid, the security an stability of electric transmission line systemis important to national economy. However, the spatial of the transmission tower as thesupport of the transmission line system is an important guarantee for the safe and stableoperation of power grid. But recently,with the natural environment keepingdeteriorating,extreme weather appears a lot, transmission tower can maintain a normalworking condition in extreme environment or not gets public’s attention. Therefore, the studyof static and dynamic characteristics of the transmission tower has important value both intheory and engineering to improve the safety and reliability of power system.In this paper, the finite software ANSYS15.0is used as the analyzing platform. Based onexisting research and design information,transmission tower as the glass-shaped ZB1tangenttower for analyses is modeled. In the meantime, the paper advanced the processing methodsof different loading cases, such as in wind, ice, foundation settlement.According to the transmission line design standards, the subsection wind load of solotower under maximum wind design are required and loaded. Take the ZB1tangent tower asthe example, by studying its distortion, stress and axial force under maximum wind design,obtained the curve of axial force distribution with the height in main materials and referringthat the effect of self-weight of transmission line can be neglected when doing the maximumwind design analysis.Then the paper studied the mechanical property of transmission tower under extremecases such as ice, foundation settlement and other working conditions. Considering theuniformity iced situation, by applying transient force on the nodes of transmission lines, thepaper studied the coupling effect of the ZB1tangent tower under different ice thickness. Thenarticle analysis transmission tower’s internal force in difference settlements, considering theeffect of transmission tower caused by foundation settlement, and obtained the curve of thechange of equivalent stress of ZB1tangent tower. According to the curve,proposed putting astiffening plate in the base of tower to prevent an resolve excessive sedimentation effect onstrength of the transmission tower.Moreover, the mode analyses are carried out considering ZB1tangent tower, obtaining itsformer ten self vibration frequency and vibration mode correspondingly. According to thefrequency and vibration mode, finding that part of tower leg and body are tend to appearpartial mode. With using Davenport wind power spectrum analysis to carry out ZB1’s spectrum analysis,found the maximum displacement appears in the windward side of towerbody.
