So far, Major electrical method used in reservoir leakage detecting is high density electrical method, but the efficiency of constraction and detecting resolution can be improved still. Parallel electrical method has been used in this research to test simulation of dam leakage with diffetent forms,7different forms of leakage was set in the physical and forward modeling experiment, using AM and ABM method to collect and process so to acquire the results of detecting sensitivity and resolution when dam body in different moisture content. The experiment indicates that:(1) Soil resistivity is closely related to moisture content. Dry soil has a high resistivity, with the moisture content get high, the resistivity reduced, when the moisture content decrease to a point, drawdown speed of the resistivity increases suddenly; after resistivity decreased to a low point, drawdown speed of the resistivity decreases and get to a smaller steady value.(2) Different abnormal body have different electrical property features in the body of earth dam, effected by the space extent of the abnormal body, the resolution is different. The reaction is obvious to the large size abnormal body and relatively poor to small size body.(3) The results of the numerical simulation and physical simulation both indicates that the data of AM system inversion image have a better reflect of leakage path, based on the results of the experiment, parallel electrical method have a good prospecting effect on detecting of dam leakage.(4) The study evaluation that compared with the background resistivity, part of the low resistivity region lower a time than the background resistivity may related to the leakage causesd by bad quality materil or crack of dam body.Through the comprehensive study of numerical simulation and physical simulation, the resistivity features of background and abnormal area have been acquired, determined the electrical parameters criteria of leakage of reservoir dam body, provided the relatively reliable foundation quantitative interpretation to the abnormal target and the explanation to the site detection.
