As an important part of bridge structure, the damage of piers often cause the destruction of the whole bridge. According to the concept of ductility aseismic, piers as ductility members should appear plastic hinge area and present enough plastic deformation capacity under the action of earthquake to dissipate the earthquake energy and allow a certain degree of damage but not destroyed. So, the significance of ductility seismic design of the bridge pier is important. By combining the theoretical analysis and engineering example, this paper research the ductility seismic design of reinforced concrete column pier with No.4bridge of fuobaoshan tourism highway engineering in lichuan city as the engineering background.The main research contents are shown as follows.(1) Through understand the status of the bridge seismic fortification, the ductility seismic design theory is studied further, and the ductility index and parameters according are selected according to the concept of ductility aseismic.(2) The constitutive relation of materials and the characteristics of the plastic hinge region of reinforced concrete bridge piers are analyzed. And the potential influence factors of the ductility performance of reinforced concrete column type piers is preliminary determined by a reasonable simplified model.(3) The bridge structure analysis software Midas/Civil is adopted to conduct simulation analyses of potential factors affecting the ordinary reinforced concrete pier or high pier ductility performance. And improvement measurements are put forward to optimize the structure design of reinforced concrete pier.(4) The response spectrum analysis is conducted to the whole bridge model of No.4bridge of fuobaoshan tourism highway engineering in lichuan city, and the pier seismic performance is also calculated.Through the above study, the potential influence factors of the performance of reinforced concrete pier ductility is obtained, and the structure design of reinforced concrete pier is optimized to improve the ductility of bridge pier and anti-seismic performance of bridges. All these will provide a reference basis for subsequent seismic design of bridges and ductility aseismic analysis of bridge pier. In addition, through the response spectrum analysis of the whole bridge model, No.4bridge of fuobaoshan tourism highway engineering in lichuan city meets the ductility seismic design requirements, and it will provide theoretical basis for actual bridge seismic analysis.
