As a Chinese national important traditional cultural symbol, Chinesetraditional residential architecture is one of the important aspects. Now,with the production technology and the globalization, the characteristicsof various regional culture and diversity gradually blurred and even lost,and for research and protection of residential construction is graduallybeginning to receive attention, how to protect traditional dwellings,inheriting the national spirit and culture and the development ofinnovation, is the priority among priorities to solve the problem of thevernacular architecture.In this environment, this paper takes Xiangxi dry space bararchitectural form, Diaojiaolou design as the research object, and throughthe analysis of art design, the natural environment and historicalconditions of the Xiangxi ’s building; local characteristics and nationalstyle, architectural structure, architectural features, the overall layout issummarized. Combined with the requirements of the new ruralcommunity construction, puts forward the problems of Xiangxi diaojialouresidential space environment, then the design research to the. Finally,aiming at the existing problems of Xiangxi folk style architecture reformproposals and solutions. In order to provide some reference for thetraditional dwellings in other parts of the protection and re design.Design Research of Xiangxi ’s building space in this paper, first,from the macroscopic angle, summarizes the basic theory research ofXiangxi’ s building; and then through the analysis to find out the statusand problems of Xiangxi diaojialou residential space environment; then through the analysis of the Xiangxi folk architectural culture, explore thetraditional residential buildings and now the construction of new ruralcommunity phase.With the development, raises questions about Xiangxi diaojialouresidential space environment design.
