With the completion of the Three Five system construction of SGCC, as an important part of the system construction, communication network provide guarantees for the effective operation of other processs. Currently, the State Grid Corporation proposed the building of a strong grid requirement, while building a smart grid is also on the agenda. In order to ensure the construction of a strong grid, smart grid to achieve normal operation, power communication network construction must keep pace with growing business needs.Since building in2008the backbone network of Jinzhou SGCC has connected the500kV and220kV substation, parts of66kV substation, thermal power plants, wind power plants and other power users, and provides a communication channel for the protective relaying, telecontrol, MIS network, video surveillance and other services. But with the growing number of substations, transmission network access devices, the business scale becomes larger. A lot of business accessing to the central office causes series of problems.Aiming at the problems in Jinzhou problems, network renovation plans and programs were analyzed. In this paper, power system optical cable, network architecture, protection means and business needs of the backbone network in Jinzhou are analyzed, obtained the current problems that the network structure is too large, multiplex section protection requirements are not suitable for network operation. Aiming at these problems new program of network structure, protection means, and business paths is proposed to reduce impact on the network operation. Research in this paper is universal, the power company can adapt to different fiber optic communications network transformation structure, site structure through the evolution of the network structure.The research provides reference and basis for the power company communications network planning and upgrading.
