Clutch is an important part of AMT, the separation and engagement characteristic ofclutch plays a key role in AMT to realize automatic transmission. When combined withfriction clutch temperature rise quickly, had a great influence on clutch work normally,especially the diaphragm spring and follower disk assembly are greatly influenced bytemperature, and lead to the clutch transmission torque and work characteristic werechanged.In this paper, for the diaphragm spring temperature characteristic, thermal-structurecoupling, load-deformation characteristic and transmission torque characteristic of theAMT clutch, the research status and development trend at home and abroad are introduced,the heat transfer model of the clutch assembly is established, outlined the theoryknowledge of the thermal analysis and the calculation method of simulation analysis forrequired parameters. To establish the diaphragm spring and pressure plate FEM modelaccording to the structural characteristic of clutch assembly to be simplified, and determinethe boundary conditions of thermal analysis according to the actual operation condition ofthe clutch. Considering the heat conduction, convection and radiation heat transfer in threewaysļ¼Œanalyzed the steady temperature field distribution of the clutch of pressure plate anddiaphragm spring at different sliding temperature by using the finite element analysissoftware. Using the Sequential coupling method in order to further analyzed the pressureplate of the clutch and diaphragm spring thermal-structure coupling characteristic, got thethermal stress distribution and the thermal deformation of the diaphragm spring in adifferent temperature, also got the load-deformation characteristic and the trend of pressingforce of the diaphragm spring in different working temperature. Clutch transmission torquemodel and the calculation method of transmission torque were analyzed, Combined withthe result of finite element analysis results of clutch pressure force, and calculated thesaturated torque of the clutch and the transmission torque in the process of separationunder different temperature.Tested the load-deformation characteristic and engagement torque characteristic ofclutch by using the clutch comprehensive performance test rig in temperature of the actualworking condition, got the rules of the small side load-deformation curve and the pressingforce and transmission torque changing of clutch in different temperature. Compared withthe load-deformation characteristic test curve and the result of the finite element simulation analysis, the results show that the load-deformation characteristic of clutch reduces as thetemperature increases; transmission torque is calculated by the simulation analysis and theclutch release, engagement test results obtained are consistent, The output torque of theclutch present a rule that first increases and then decreases with the increasing oftemperature in the test.
