Silicone rubber composite insulators have been used extensively for gridinsulation,because of their good stain resistance, high mechanical strength, especially inmore severe thermal power plants.Components of power plant coal ash is Artificial ash,due to its physical and chemical activity and microstructure, on hydrophobicity ofsilicone rubber composite insulator flashover characteristics of its effect。Because of itsphysical, chemical activity and microstructure,the hydrophobic and flashovercharacteristics of silicone rubber composite insulator has its own influence.Thermalpower plants are the source of electricity production, Research on the hydrophobicproperties and pollution flashover characteristics, to reveal the fly ash compositeinsulator hydrophobic rule and essence of pollution flashover, operation and maintenanceof insulators, to improve the security of electricity supply, stability is important anduseful.Firstly,introduce the importance of research and fly ash on the hydrophobiccomposite insulator flashover law to improve the reliability of electricity supply, andother aspects of security and stability.Then, create a power plant for the filthy seriousimpact on the hydrophobic insulator flashover regular tests and research platform and testmethods. On this basis, this paper discusses the polluted degree of fly ash on plantmigration of hydrophobic performance and composite insulator flashover characteristics,especially the influence of the super thick ash layer, the results indicate:Fly ash particlesize, distribution uniformity,combined effect of the hydrophobic surface of siliconerubber insulators of the combined effect of silicone rubber insulator surfacehydrophobicity, the smaller the particle size, more uniform distribution, the hydrophobicstronger;Flashover voltage largely depends on the high impedance of the discharge pathresistance of the remaining contamination layer, thick ash layer dip will promote water droplets run, combined with the ash layer, so that the whole presents a high impedanceinsulators, flashover high pressure value.Finally, composite insulators inside the plantduring operation may be compromised continuous frequency over voltage orover-voltage pulse when flashover, hydrophobic regions studied contamination flashovervoltage and frequency and pulse voltage insulator sheds organic surface correlation.Through a comprehensive analysis of the above methods and test results, obtainedhydrophobic nature and laws of migration properties of fly ash on the silicone rubbercomposite insulators and flashover characteristics, the results can be within the operationand maintenance of thermal power plant insulators provide some guidance significance.
