Currently, the traffic problem has become one of the important factors that hinder the development of various cities around the world, and how to effectively solve the traffic problem has become an important problem, and the traffic flow theory is the theoretical basis to solve the problem of traffic. The characteristics of traffic flow are the focus area of transportation, whose development and application play an important practical significance in solving the traffic problem. At present, domestic and foreign scholars study it mainly from microcosmic and macroscopic aspects, establish a variety of traffic flow models, set the foundation for the deep-seated research of traffic flow.Through the research, the paper implements the analysis for the traffic flow characteristics of urban freeway, defines the traffic flow situation as well as establishes microscopic and macroscopic models under the condition of the dynamic characteristics of the traffic flow; using analysis system of the traffic flow situation, the model is verified to be reasonable.Firstly, this paper regards the urban freeway as the research object, presents the concept of traffic flow situation and analyzes the dynamic characteristics of urban freeway traffic flow from microcosmic and macroscopic aspects. The microcosmic aspect includes the time headway, the distance headway and the velocity; the traffic volume, speed and intensity of the macroscopic aspect are made the mathematical statistical analysis, which provides a theoretical basis for the establishment of the traffic flow models.Secondly, based on the law of conversation and balance rules of traffic flow, the paper investigates the characteristics of traffic flow under different traffic scenarios, develops the model of microscopic traffic flow and validates the effectiveness of the model through simulated data.With the rapid development of ITS technology and the traffic flow increasing, the independence of vehicles in traffic flow is much worse, that is to say randomness and uncertainty become weak and the uncertainty strengthens, which mainly demonstrates in the macroscopic aspects of traffic flow. Based on the molecule kinetic theory, the macroscopic operating characteristics of traffic flow are analyzed; taking the following behavior of the vehicle as the base point, the models of speed-flow and flow-density are developed considering the effect of the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle on the macroscopic traffic flow, and are simulated by the actual data.Finally, by the system of traffic flow situation to get the real-time dynamic data, the mechanism obtaining different information is analyzed, which provides data support and technical support for these dynamic models of microscopic and macroscopic traffic flow above.
