As one type of special and complicated slop, the rock-soil composite slop is not the same as common rock slop as well as common soil, but a special geological body ranging between them. Many researches on the soil slop and rock slop are existed so far, but researches on the deformation failure mode and its stability of rock-soil composite are rarely exited in domestic and abroad. Owing some special engineering properties make this topic necessary.This thesis takes the typical rock-soil composite slop under the fourteen section of the contract about Da(Wei Shan)-Liu(Yang) expressway as research object. Conducting geological surveys to the scene, collecting the first date about original slop and excavation slop’s geomorphic feature, geological structure, character of rock mass, deformation failure mode, slop stability, obtaining many rock soil sample, trail on the completely weathered residual soil’s moisture content, liquid plastic limit and direct shear are carried on. Physical mechanical parameters are got from the experiment of rock cycle of dry and wet compression, modulus of deformation and structure shear. On the above basis, deformation failure mode about all kinds of bedded rock soil slop are studied from the aspects of parallel, bend, vertical and reverse bend by using the UDEC software, besides, the influence on the stability of this type of slop that caused by all types of influence factor such as thickness of soil layer, level angle and mechanical parameters and are analyzed. Strengthening suggestion are put forward by studying the deformation failure mode and its stability of the typical rock-soil composite slop in K79+840-K79+950. At last, analyzing on-site monitoring data and comparing numerical simulation results, Applicability of Numerical analyses are tested. The conclusion achieved has a guiding significance and reference value to the construction of this similar slope such as Da(Wei Shan)-Liu(Yang) expressway.
