With the development of the society, the technology of roof radiant air-conditioning has been very mature, but the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning is known by little people and the calculation method of its load has not been studied before. The air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system (also known as orifice radiant air conditioning system) is a radiation terminal system with air as its energy medium, which was developed in recent years, it not only has the advantages of the traditional radiation terminal system like low energy consumption, good comfort and noise-free, but also avoid some of its problems like easy condensation, difficult maintenance and complex construction. The load calculation method of the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system is the key part of its system design and the main reference for the equipment selection, therefore, the accuracy of the load calculation directly affects the rationality and economy of the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system design.The air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system load can not be calculated accurately since the energy exchange via radiation is much more than that in the conventional convection air-conditioning. Calculating the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning load correctly is very important for its design, popularization and application, therefore, exploring a suitable calculation method of the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system load is very necessary.In this paper a field measurement which last one month in the winter and summer in an office on the fifth floor of Building Xiangneng in Changsha City, Hunan province, was conducted to get to know the actual thermal environment of the room with air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system, and to accumulate a lot of valuable measured data for the theory study of it.The existed load calculation methods of the air-conditioning system were summarized and the analysis of field measurement results were conducted, the cooling load and heat load of the air-conditioned room were obtained by using the traditional load calculation method. The cooling load and heat load calculated by CFD simulation were also obtained by building a three-dimensional physical model of the experimental room with Fluent and simulating the indoor flow field by setting experimental condition as the boundary condition. By comparing with the load value calculated by traditional methods, a correction factor to calculate the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system by correction factor method was deduced and finally a load calculation method of for the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system which is easy to calculate, sufficient precision andapplicable to practical engineering was obtained. In this paper, the load calculation method for the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system combined with CFD simulation is obtained by the combination of field measurement and CFD simulation, which is very valuable in the design, promotion and application of the air carry energy radiant air-conditioning system and is also very important to the energy conservation and emission reduction of HVAC.
