Stone arch bridge is a product of the development of the history of China, its historical value is rather significant, design load level of bridge bulidded at early age is generally low, the cross section size is small, and the intensity is low, which lead to the Structure’s badly damaging and variety of disease, basing on the practical investigation and research of bridge of one district in Chongqing to carry out the research of diseases and reinforcement for stone bridge. Safety countermeasures are presented. Basing on a certain stone bridge engineering, research the Structure reinforcement retrofit scheme, design calculation method and construction scheme. analysis the mechanical properties of arch bridge main arch before and after reinforcement, and studying the main arch and arch bridge reinforcement on the mechanical performance before and after and calculating the bearing capacity calculation, this paper mainly content the following research:(1) The present situation and the development of arch Bridges at home and abroad are summarized,and the common methods to bridge reinforcement are summarized(2) Basing on actual survey research for bridges of district in Chongqing, classifying and analyzing the existing disease of stone arch Bridges, summarizing the causes of defect arise, bridge safety countermeasures are given and the key poi nts and arch stone bridge detection technology commonly used are presented.(3) Summarizing the bridge reinforcement design principles and the design and calculation method of increasing section method to reinforce arch bridge.(4) basing on a stone bridge engineering, Analysis the disease status and the cause of the disease, use the finite element software Midas civil analysis the internal forces of the main arch, and check the original arch ring structure bearing capacity. In view of the arch bridge diseases, reasonable reinforcement method is put forward, the different thickness of reinforcement scheme is carried out to select the most suitable project, and to use finite element to carry out the bearing capacity calculation. for arch bridge being reinforcement. (5) Introduce the construction steps, enlarged cross section method process is simple, cover an area of an area small, flexible, and be able to complete the reinforcement work very quickly.
