Masonry structure and bottom frame masonry structure have been widely used inour country,especially in small towns and in the villages of big cities.However,theWenchuan earthquake indicates that these two types of buildings most likely appearedserious damage or collapse. Since the1990s, a large number of urban villages beganto appear in our country because of the acceleration of urbanization process andirrational urban planning. Due to the low cost, the convenient construction and thegood application function, masonry structure and bottom frame structure are the mainstructure form in urban villages. At the same time,the buildings’ quality in urbanvillages can not be guaranteed for lack of planning, auditing and supervision.Supported by the survey of structures in Chenzhai and Miaoli and the analysis of theseismic performance of typical structures, this thesis make a damage prediction forstructures in urban villages by using the artificial neural network method. It providesa suggestion for the disaster prevention planning of Zhengzhou City.It also canprovide a reference method for earthquake damage prediction of cities.Supported by scientific and technological project of Henan Province andpostgraduate scientific research project of Zhengzhou university, this thesis conductedthe following research:1.Make a survey for the masonry structures and the bottom frame masonrystructures in Chenzhai and Miaoli of Zhengzhou.The unreasonable phenomenon andits hazards were analyzed. Take the types,layers, with or without cantilever beam andgraphic layout of structures as the damage impact factors.All above build afoundation of damage prediction and the selection of typical buildings.2.Choose the typical buildings from the survey,whose damage situations wereanalyzed according to the current national seismic design code.Finally,form a damageprediction sample database.3.Build a BP artificial neural network model.Then,the databases are used to learnand train until the results reach a certain precision. Finally,make a simulation to the buildings in urban villages, calculate the damage predictions.
