The accuracy of load model has great effects on the stability analysis and digitalsimulation of power system. Not only should good model be able to reflect accuratelythe characteristics of load, but also have a structure as simple as possible. At present,the choice of model structure is often determined by artificial method according to themeasured data, the load composition, some typical electrical equipment loadcharacteristics and mathematical model. This method requires very high professionalexperience, but the optimization of model structure by artificial selection is verydifficult facing tens of thousands of possible combinations.Data acquisition of load in the power system is chosen as of this study. Aiming atthe deficiency of existing load modeling method, the self-organization principleapplied in load modeling for automatic organization, the optimization of modelstructure and parameter identification with computer.In the traditional load modeling, the selection criterion of the model is usuallydefined as measured data with function approximation degree as, tend to get "modelis more complex and more precise" conclusion, which is inconsistent with the facts.Load modeling based on the self-organization principle expressed as: internalcriterion is used for building models, external criterion for making screening modelwith the optimal complexity, to the automation of the modeling process.Theory is appropriately employed and combined with practice close. There ismuch different type of the model in the power system, it is unrealistic to list allpossible for model combinations. Through the research on the basic theory and theoperation method of the genetic algorithm, this paper establish the method which isthe genetic algorithm as the external optimization framework and theself-organization principle load modeling of internal standard, it is practical value forload modeling.This issue will be the field test and the simulation test data as example, thoughprogram development with load modeling based on the self-organization principle inMATLAB, internal and external criterion are used for making screening model with the optimal complexity, the results is almost equal to the real situation bymeasurement. To test the generalization ability of the load model with this methodthough a large voltage range, the simulation results show that the load model can welldescribe the load behavior. Through the above analysis, the results show that the newmethod of load modeling is the validity and feasibility.
