Xigeda soil is a special soil, and is widely distributed in Panzhihua City. In the city, weusually can see large amounts of slope engineering of Xigeda soil. In these slope engineering, the more cost-effective approach is to use the slope Reinforced Retaining Wall, so there is a lotof reinforced retaining wall of Xigeda soil in Panzhihua region. In designing and building reinforced retaining wall of Xigeda soil, Engineering andmechanical’s personnel often encounter some problems like “how to decorate with reinforcedbands”、“how much is the reinforced bands’ spacing”、“how much is the reinforced bands’length”. Therefore, in order to serve the actual project, the paper carries out the research on“Arrangement of reinforced bands has impact on slope stability of Xigeda soil”.In the researching on optimization arrangement of reinforced bands, this paper usePLAXIS of the finite element software to simulate internal forces in reinforced retaining wall, which is not seen, in order to visually observe the change of interior stress and strain in soilbody. In the process of simulation, This paper consider the impact of six kinds of spacing andsix kinds of length on slope stability of Xigeda soil in some engineering; six kinds of spacingare0.3m,0.4m,0.5m,0.6m,0.8m,1.0m, six kinds of length are3m,4m,5m,6m,7m,8m.Through simulation analysis, we found that the smaller spacing, the higher safety factor ofslope, the better slope stability, the less sliding surface, the less likely slide; but when thespacing of reinforced bands is too small, the safety factor is too higher, which will cause wasteof reinforced bands and an increase of workload. At the same time, we also found the smallerlength of reinforced bands, the lower safety factor, the worse slope stability, the more slidingsurface, the more likely slide; but when the length reinforced bands is too long, the incrementalof safety factor is not much, so it is not necessary to select too long length of reinforced bands. To determine the optimal arrangement of reinforced bands, the paper presents an idea oflimit analysis with finite element. By the idea, we can gradually narrow the spacing and thelength of reinforced bands, and finally determine a more reasonable spacing and length ofreinforced bands. Finally, under considering the influence of various factors, through softwaresimulation, this paper proposes an ideal spacing4.5m and length7.5m which meet practicalengineering of this paper. By contrasting optimization program and the original program, wefound that the optimization program is better.
