Mountainous highway usually have the complex linear,a number of artificial structure and frequently change space, it also have abundant landscape resources along the road, fully grasp the driver’s visual interest area and psychological characteristics is necessary, through reasonable landscape construction to improve the driver’s visual environment, improve the road traffic safety. Therefore, to improve the operational safety and visual environment, research on driver’s viewpoint distribution characteristics and landscape construction technology in mountainous freeway has very important significance.In this paper, based on summarize of dynamic visual characteristics, through the analysis of the driver’s eye movement behavior,determines the pupil diameter as psychological evaluation index, XY perspective, percentage of fixation frequency and fixation time and average fixation time as the viewpoint distribution index. Through the outdoor vehicle experiment, using the eye movement record data, according to the testing purpose,test section is divided into three typical space sections (open space, half closed space, closed space) and four kinds of special section (bend, cut slope, tunnel entrance, interchange ramp), on the basis of the XY view, watching area is divided into seven regions, driver viewpoint distribution characteristics is obtained, mountain highway landscape construction countermeasures are summarized, and Take Tongzun freeway for example,it put forward for landscape scheme.Through the research of this paper:the driver focuses on medial strip of the middle area, viewpoints distribution of Three typical space is different, driver’s viewpoint in the open space shows uniformity distribution and better feelings,space landscape construction should pay attention to harmony transition; The smaller the curve radius, the driver more attention curve inside; Under the condition of loadside have slope, driver focus on lower part of slope; Tunnel portal of cutting bamboo type feel better and driver focuses on hole, Tunnel portal of headwall type mainly focus on the wall and surrounding area; Ring type ramp feelings better than semi-directional pattern ramp, viewpoint in ring type ramp distribution on the inside of the bend, turn left and right section of semi-directional type ramp focus on left side area. Landscape construction countermeasures should be consider based on different section characteristics, by reducing structural objects, change the surface material texture, using plants weaken the hard landscape, or the use of greening to guide, shelter, reminder the driver, create a pleasant and comfortable driving visual environment, improve the traffic safety.Result of this paper is helpful for further promoting the highway landscape construction methods, to provide reference and guidance for the highway construction.
