Power station and Transformer substation bus bar are the most important electrical equipment, they play important role in gathering and allocation energy. It is significance to make sure the bus bar safely operation to improve reliability and power quality. If bus bar of the transformer substation goes wrong, it will have a bad influence for whole power system and even make the system break down.Current differential protection is the main method of the bus bar’s protection, but it has a restriction when external fault of TA’s saturation happen. Novel method to eliminate influence of TA’s saturation to bus bar protection through analysis of the Current differential protection’s principle and configuration, then calculation is taken to prove the analysis. All analysis and calculation dedicated in this paper. Then practical application of this protection method is taken to observe its effect.
