With the rise of smart grid and development of network technology, the requirement of communication network from distribution automation system remain grows. The progress of distribution automation system needs homologous communication technology to match it, at the same time the power distribution network has become an important index for measuring the power distribution reliability and power supply quality. The power distribution network assumes the function of collecting data and operating command of dispatch center. The efficient and high communicating ability of power supply quality is an important element, in the meantime the advanced communication technology influences the strengths of distribution automation system deeply.In the distribution communication network, Data acquisition is an important part to ensure the safe operation of the distribution network, which also related to the safety and reliability of the electric power marketing. Because the structure of the power distribution network is complex, the situation is changeable.So far, it is difficult to collect all of the data aggregation back to the data center. This paper put forward a power distribution communication network extension plan which is based on the WIA technology, and this plan is able to deliver the amount of data aggregation and network data of the blind spots back to the data center. The scheme is geared to the needs of the intelligent distribution communication network and combined with wireless network. It is low cost and low power consumption, and the scheme also has the advantages of large capacity, good security and short delay data transmission. It is an appropriate supplement to the power distribution communication network data transmission.This thesis which is based on embedded system puts forward a multi-protocol gateway design and designs a solution of multi-network intercommunication which faces industries controlled meanwhile it also designs hardware system and software system. For weak areas on network, this system can assist people of power system to test information of electric equipment, it also collects the field real time date and passes it back. Not only does it save cost but also satisfies the needs of power system.
