In recent years, an increasing number of Chinese cities are establishing urbanmetro projects, which will involve many difficult but yet important issues on deepexcavation that have to be tackled in civil engineering processes. This is even more sogiven that the excavation is gradually expanding and further deepening, and that inour cities ensuring safety and stability and minimizing engineering impact on theenvironment and traffic conditions are particularly difficult in areas where buildingsand underground pipes are relatively concentrated and where traffic concerns demanda higher construction requirement. In this paper, the deep excavation process of Wuxi Liekou subway station isdiscussed in terms of its impact on the surrounding buildings. The discussion is basedon analyses of field monitoring data and by means of finite element software ANSYS.A set of modeling parameters are obtained by collecting information on the design ofWuxi Liekou subway station as well as the data of surrounding hydrogeologicalconditions. A finite element model of the entire system, including diaphragm walls, reinforced concrete support, steel support, and the surrounding soil near the building,is constructed by ANSYS numerical simulation to analyze the deformation of soillayer, the deformation and stress of the underground continuous wall as well as thestress distribution within the support, during excavation. At the same time, fieldmonitoring data of the deep foundation of Leikou subway station were analyzed inthe following aspects: the vertical displacement of residential buildings, surfacevertical displacement near the residential buildings, horizontal displacement of thedeep walls near the residential buildings, horizontal displacement of deep soil nearthe residential buildings, concrete support shaft power, and steel support axial force. Then these monitoring data are compared with numerical simulation results. Thesimulation results, if consistent with the data, will be verified and would provide atheoretical basis and practical guidance for future construction of the deep foundationfor subway stations. |
