Since the economic development and life level improvement, vehicles play aincreasingly important part in our daily lives. With the car’s popularization, theenvironmental pollution and energy shortage problems become severer. Thecoordination between car industry and environmental problems tests the wisdom ofgovernment and car companies. Hence the new energy cars and clean energy carsbecome the alternative of traditional cars.Hybrid electric vehicles are a kind of clean energy cars whose powertrainmatching has significant influence on the fuel economy and emissions. This paperdesigned the powertrain system based on the prototype car whose power parts(engine,motor, battery) are matched based on the ultimate properties and cycle requirements.The model of hybrid electric car is build in the Matlab/Advisor environment and it isused to simulate the dynamics and fuel consumption of the HEV. The simulationresults are compared with the properties of prototype car and the design object.The regenerative braking which uses motor to assist braking also has greatimpact on the fuel economy and emissions. This paper presented the intelligentlyassist regenerative braking system based on the fuzzy neural network which combinesthe regenerative braking and automated braking together to improve driving safetyand recycle energy. The simulation model is put up in the Matlab/Simulinkenvironment to test the effectiveness of the system.
