As the stiffness center does not coincide with the center of mass, the eccentric structure will produce a large torsional response under the seismic action. The existing damage surveys and theoretical studies have indicated that excessive tosional response will lead to structural degradation of seismic performance, accelerating structural damage or even collapse. Due to the design theory and method are not complete, the damping effect of homogeneous set in eccentric structure is not very ideal, which restricts the development of new structural system severely. In this thesis, using viscoealstic dampers to control the torsional response of eccentric structure under the seismic action is studied. The influence on structural seismic performance under different layout scheme of dampers and optimal placement of the dampers in the eccentric structure are also analyzed.1、The traditional design method of solving the problem of torsional vibration of eccentric structure is summarized. This thesis describes the status quo of controlling reversal reaction of eccentric structure, and the optional control problem of eccentric structure is also discussed.2、The energy dissipation mechanism and mechanical properties of viscoelastic damper is analyzed, as well as the calculation parameters of simplified model. The analysis and design method of the viscoelastic damping structure is discussed.3、Large-scale finite element software ansys is used to establish a10layer of eccentric mass frame structure. The seismic behavior of structure is analyzed with different layout scheme of viscoelastic dampers. Results showed that reasonable spatial arrangement of dampers along two orthogonal directions can maximize the torsional vibration damper of structure, reduce the translational reaction and torsional response of the structure is also reduced at the same time effectively.4、With sequential search method as optimization algorithm, this thesis proposed a weighted combination of interaminar displacement angle and displacement ratio as objective function based on interaminar displacement angle. Optimal placements of viscoelastic dampers under the control of the two objective functions are compared. The results of analysis showed that the translation-torsion coupling vibration of eccentric structure is futher controlled by the proposed objective function.
