Study On The Image Of Shanxi Garden In Xian Expo Park

The local gardens of Xi’an Expo Park have strong local characteristics. In order to make sure about the imagine root and design methods of all the local gardens,it analyzes the image of Shanxi garden based on the imagology.The study comes out from the aspects of geography, history, folk culture, era features with the methods of content analysis and outside research. At the same time, it studies the cultural connotations of the image and the way used to mix the folk culture and landscape element. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) It shows the landscape of Qinling Mountains, Weihe River, Mu Us Desert, Han river valley in Shanxi, and create the image of majestic mountain, gentle river, desert scenery, fantastic waterside.(2) It expresses the fourth prosperous dynasties in the history of Shan xi:Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang in the aspect of historical humanity. The image of historical culture which contains bronze ware, powerful Qin, named Han, artistic Tang, Red Cradle.(3) It displays the folk-custom of loess feel, Guanzhong, Qinchu through the art of folk houses, folk songs, paper-cut, drama, sculpture and ceramic in the aspect of folk culture.(4) With the combination of modern landscape elements and traditional cultural symbols, it creates the images with era characteristics,such as, propitious sign, skyscraper, ruralism country and hopeful field.(5) The ways of representation, reference, symbol, recombination, abstraction, Visual expression are used in the landscape design of Shanxi garden.In summary, the local gardens successfully create the characteristic cultural image by excavating and processing the typical landscape elements.
