Along with the continuous consumption of fossil energy and the destruction ofnatural environment due to human activities, Greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2increased significantly in recent years, the resulting greenhouse effect has causedirreversible effects on the ecological environment. With the rapid development ofeconomy, carbon emissions of the construction industry are being paid more and moreattention. However, the methodologies for measurement and assessment of carbonemissions are not perfect. Therefore, it is of great importance to establish quantitativemethods and evaluation indexes for carbon emissions of construction industry for thelow carbon development of our country. This paper focused on the measurement and assessment of carbon emissions andlow carbon development of construction industry, and carried out researches on thefollowing contents:(1) In order to improve the research framework and calculation method of carbonemissions of building life-cycle, this paper divided the life-cycle into three stagesincluding materialization, operation and disposition based on the research achievementsat home and abroad. The emission factors of commonly used energies and materialswere also summarized. Furthermore, this paper established four methods for thecalculation of carbon emissions: the quantitative calculation method based on emissionfactors, the quantitative calculation method based on measured data, the estimationmethod based on statistical data, and the estimation method based on regressionformulas.(2) To compare the carbon emission performance of reinforced concrete blockmasonry structure with traditional structures, the proposed method was applied to threeengineering cases including a6-storey residential building, a16-storey residentialbuilding and a28-storey office Building. The result showed that the reinforced concreteblock masonry structure was a Resource conservation and environment friendly greenbuilding structure with an obvious advantage of low carbon at the materialization stage.(3) Combined qualitative with quantitative analysis, this paper analyzed theinfluence factors of carbon emissions of building life-cycle such as building function, service life, natural conditions, temperature requirements, Insulation measures, recycling rate, et al.(4) For the assessment and analysis of carbon emissions, evaluation indexes wereput forward for the single building and building cluster respectively. Moreover, theoffice building was taken for an example to explain the main process of optimizationdesign method based on the carbon emissions. |
