In modern military operations, infrared decoys is a kind of effective weapons,which is mainly used in the field of missile defense. And dimmer array controltechnology as a development trend of virtual simulation technology now is one partof hardware-in-loop simulation technology. Dimmer array control technology notonly is very flexible as virtual simulation technology, but also get simulationresults more accurately. The system of dimmer array control used in infrared decoycan effectively evaluate the performance of decoy, and be very important in thefield of national defense and military.This paper analyze the infrared models of infrared decoy and its workingbackground, based on the engineering calculation methods of aerodynamic and thebasic theory of infrared radiation. Then this paper achieves a dimmer array controlsystem based on the principle of dimmer array imaging, and test the effect ofinfrared decoys and the performance of dimmer array control system at last. Themain contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, the working staus of the decoys are analyzed. With the thought of finiteelement, the temperature distribution of decoy flow field have modeled to solve theradiation parameters of gas in the flow field. And this chapter research on theradiation characteristic of the decoy plume,the atmosphere and the clouds, set up themodel of decoy working static, provides a theoretical basis for the dimmer arraycontrol system.Secondly, the overall design program of the dimmer array control system andthe design program of the control dimmer array board are planned. This chapterachieve the logic of control array, build the hardware part of the dimmer arraycontrol system, including image generating computer, array control board andinfrared simulator.Thirdly, the image generating software in the dimmer array control system isdesigned. According to the principle of modular design, system software is dividedinto the target parameter module, the target state module, the object recognitionmodule, the image generating module, the data conversion module and the controlmodule. The software also generate real-time simulation images of decoy workingaccording to the theoretical model of decoy, and implement the data communicationwith the array control card through PCI interface with DMA protocol.Finally, the dimmer array control system is setted up. The system is used toanalyse the radiation characteristics of infrared decoys. Then the various functionsof this system are tested to achieve the evaluate of dimmer array control system performance.
